The instrument
An icon with active character.
We started with a legendary 1989 USA-made solid-body bass, one of the early instruments to combine powerful pickups with onboard active electronics. Its combination of low-end punch, bright attack and focused midrange gives it a character that cuts through naturally. We captured the active DI signal alongside two carefully positioned microphones, preserving both its direct impact and the character of the instrument itself.

The virtual instrument
Built to hit the groove.
We turned those recordings into an instrument that combines real performances with detailed playable samples. Fingerstyle, pick, slap and pop articulations give you a wide range of expressive options, while the pattern engine lets you move naturally between grooves, fills and your own basslines.
