The instrument

A wooden voice with a deep resonance.

We started with a handcrafted 1970s upright bass from Mittenwald, chosen for its rich low end, natural resonance and unmistakable acoustic character. We captured the instrument in detail, preserving everything from the deep body resonance to the subtle movement and texture of each note.

The virtual instrument

Built for feel, movement and depth.

We turned those recordings into an instrument that brings the character of a real upright player into your hands. Fingerstyle, muted, bowed and harmonic articulations combine with slides and percussive techniques, while played patterns and freely playable notes let you shape everything from subtle basslines to expressive melodies.
